Green Friendly Hotels

In recent years, environmental awareness has become more prevalent and people have converted themselves to eco-friendly citizens that are dedicated to providing a sustainable and cleaner Earth. From days that are dedicated to reminding people of the importance of conservation to popular green-friendly culture that are becoming mainstream, there is no doubt that people are becoming more environmentally caring for nature. This is why the slow but steady emergence of green friendly hotels is not at all surprising.

Emergence of Green Friendly Hotels

What are green friendly hotels? Why the label? These questions might be just some of the things that are running through your head. What exactly are green friendly hotels? These green friendly and eco-friendly hotels are homes away from home that are dedicated to providing guests with comfort and luxury through energy-saving methods. These hotels are environmentally caring and eco-friendly establishments whose managements ensure that programs they use in their hotels save energy, save water, reduce waste to protect the one and only planet that we live in. Aside from this goal, the green friendly hotels are also saving money through eco-friendly methods.

These green friendly hotels are interested and are concerned about environmental issues. They strive to contribute in helping save and protect the environment by turning the establishments that they run into green friendly and environmentally concerned properties in the hopes of also converting other hotels in the lodging industry into becoming eco-friendly establishments.

There are many ways that hotels exercise environmental-friendly methods. One simple but quite effective way is not serving drinking water unless specifically requested by the customer. This simple move of saving water has been known to have significantly decreased water consumption in hotels. Green-friendly hotels also request their guests to consider not letting room service clean their linen if not deemed necessary. The great thing about these special management requests is that most, if not all, of the guests participate and do their own part of cutting down on use of energy and water.

Aside from the previously mentioned ways of cutting down on the use of resources, these green friendly hotels also conserve and reuse materials. An example is making laundry bags out of retired sheets and even producing homegrown, organic vegetables for the hotel´s restaurant. Some hotels also use environmental friendly products such as tiles produced from recycled windshields, using green cleaning products and utilizing solar energy for lighting up signs and heating water.

The Four Seasons Las Vegas is truly a remarkable place. At first I didn´t think it was possible to escape the sounds of a typical Las Vegas evening, but I was wrong. Don´t get me wrong I like coming to Las Vegas for the gambling, food, and pure people watching entertainment
