Hotel Architecture

Hotel Architecture

The architecture and general look and feel of a hotel can be the mark of its ability to cope with the dog-eat-dog world of the hotel industry. There is simply nothing like going home to a building that does not only make you feel like you have never left your house, but also make you comfortable with all the facilities and amenities that it has to offer. Hotels that strive to make their building and the rooms they offer to their guests as similar to homes as possible, the more they attract customers.

Architecture Adding Value to the Customer´s Experience

The hotels that utilize the design and architecture of their rooms are generally considered to be the finest hotels in the world. This is because guests often seek comfort while staying in their homes away from home and therefore choose the hotels that give them the feeling that they never left their abodes. Hotels with smart management then use home-like designs or residential styles to accomplish this goal. The extents to which the guest rooms and the public areas of a hotel make the guests feel comfortable which influences the customer´s hotel experience greatly. The residential approach and the home-like feel that the hotel architecture exudes is one of the strongest determining factors of its ability to attract and retain its customers.

Home-like Feel to Hotels

There are many approaches and factors that hotels use in order to recreate the warm feeling of being at home. Some of these factors include the choice of furnishings and the amenities that the hotel offers to their guests. Some of the furnishings that are uncommon to be found in most hotel rooms but are, unknowingly, great factors in achieving the residential feel, include a television with VCR or DVD player, a clock radio with or without a CD player, a reclining lounge chair, beautiful curtains, warm colors and even small appliances if the guest room has a kitchen area.

The approaches of the hotels in recreating a home-like feel to their rooms vary greatly and are largely dependent on the type of audience it caters. Some hotels design their rooms to offer an upscale, residential feel to the environment. Some features marble floors and wallpapers that are typical of the wallpapers used at home. Drapes and carpeting are also similar to typical residence furnishings and the linens are comfortable and fresh-smelling.

Though the approaches may vary, the goal of every hotel in general is to recreate a residential feel to their design and architecture in order to provide an outstanding experience for guests.

The Four Seasons Las Vegas is truly a remarkable place. At first I didn´t think it was possible to escape the sounds of a typical Las Vegas evening, but I was wrong. Don´t get me wrong I like coming to Las Vegas for the gambling, food, and pure people watching entertainment
