Soft Towels in Hotels

Soft Towels in Hotels

The towels that you get to use in the hotels are often made from cotton material that feels soft to touch and use. The hoteliers will often try to find the softest materials to ensure that you´ll feel really pampered on your entire stay.

The Color

Did you notice that most hotels have white cotton towels? This shows their guests how clean and sanitized the hotel´s amenities are. White is also a very neutral color that can match any interior design in the whole suite – bathroom and sleeping quarters.

Of course, there are other colors that hotels could also use – still, pastel and cream colors are often preferred to dark colors, but royal blue and other dark but pleasing colors are also used. However, because towels are available in a variety of colors, the hotels can choose these and the hotel guests surely wouldn´t mind as long as these towels remain soft and clean

The Size

There is no consensus as to what size the hotel towels should be. But still, something bigger than the standard household size is often found in hotels. Sizes vary from 12 x 13 to 18 x 30 to 30 x 54.

The Texture

Of course, the softer the towel, the better it feels to touch. The towel´s softness is often dependent on the materials from which it was made. Still, 100%      - organic or not – is often considered to be the softest.

The towels are categorized based on the type of cotton that these were made from. For instance, Turkish cotton towels are soft but dense while Egyptian cotton towels are very absorbent and are often light in weight. Both these towels are considered to be the best – that is why these two are often preferred by hoteliers anywhere.

The Style

Plain styled soft cotton towels are often seen in hotels. However, varieties that include ribbed or striped hems are more stylish. Often, hotels also have their names or logos embroidered or stamped into the style.

The Eco-Friendly

People have become more environment-friendly and would want their things to be eco-friendly, too. That is why hotels are now choosing organic cotton towels in their baskets.

Also, some hotels are using bamboo fiber towels.

Should the Towels Matter?

The towels in the hotel do matter – unhygienic ones will infect you with certain diseases! Still, if the hotel has a towel that is about an inch or 5 inch shorter than what you are used to, you shouldn´t really complain. Still, if the towel is rough and scratches your skin, you have the every right to the call the attention of the manager.
