Wake Up Calls

Wake Up Calls

Jet lag is just among the annoying things that you can encounter while traveling – it can have a domino effect on your travel. For instance, jet lag made you feel really tired that you didn´t enjoy your dinner and retired to bed early so that you can catch up on some sleep for your early morning business meeting or appointment at 5 AM. However, you were so tired that you forgot to reset your clock and ended up waking at 4 AM (your clock) in a time zone that is in fact 8 AM in local time.

One of the solutions that travelers can think of to help them wake up for their appointments is to avail of the hotel´s wake up calls. However, not all hotels offer wakeup call services. You have to make sure to bring your own alarm clock or any device that alarms at a certain time (cellphones and iPods) just in case the hotel will not wake you up.

Bring Your Own

The best answer is to bring your own alarm clock – but you have to make sure that you set it to the time zone of the place that you will be going to. You can even set the time before you travel to minimize the chances that you will forget to reset the time when you arrive at your destination. Another option is to bring a clock which has settings for various cities or time zones of the world. This is a good way of ensuring that you have the correct time.

By the Hotel

What is the use of paying a lot for sleeping in the hotel when they can´t help wake you up for an early appointment?

Automated Wake Up Calls

The hotel might have already installed a device or speaker that will belt out some weird or noisy songs and/or wake up wordings on the time requested by the guests. This automated wake up devices may also include alarm clocks – but you have to make sure that you understand how it works before you rely on it.

Personal Wake Up Calls

Some hotels will go out of their way to help their guests – so, they´ll call your room to wake you up at the designated time. Some hotels will even send someone to personally knock on your door just in case you have ignored the last few wake up calls that they sent you.

Don´t be shy – you can always avail of the hotel´s wake up calls service when you travel. Just make sure that they do have one before you book – or you bring your own wake up gadgets with you.
